The DuBose Advocacy Asbestos Victims Scholarship is designed to support a law student who is passionate about pursuing a legal career. The ideal scholarship recipient will demonstrate a strong commitment to public service and a deep empathy for victims of negligence, gross negligence or products liability. Relevant experience, such as internships, volunteer work, or academic research in personal injury law, environmental law, or public health, will be highly valued.

Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is open to any student who is currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or professional program in the United States. This includes accredited community college students as well as high school seniors and students who possess a GED who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited program.
- The scholarship applicant must be interested in helping those affected by negligence, and the applicant must demonstrate this commitment in their essay.
- All eligible candidates must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
Essay Prompt & Questions
Respond to the following prompt and questions in an essay of 1,000 words or less:
- What motivated you to pursue a career in law? Describe any personal experiences, internships, or volunteer work that have influenced your decision to advocate for victims.
- Litigation is a complex and challenging area of law. What do you believe are the biggest legal and ethical challenges in representing victims?
- How do you plan to use your legal education to raise awareness, promote public health, or fight for justice for those affected?
